Nowadays Rhodes is the most rapidly developing Greek resort. The beach season lasts here from May till October. The island is washed by two seas: the Aegean Sea in the West and the Mediterranean Sea in the East. So in the West the beaches are pebble and the sea is heavy and the East means sandy beaches and calm water. That’s why the East Coast with such regions as Kalithea, Faliraki, Kolimbia and Lindos is a better place for beach holidays and the West (Iksia, Yalisos) is good for windsurfing.
Lindos and Kolimbia pleasure resorts are rather calm places; Faliraki is a modern popular among youth resort with lots of bars, discos and parks; Yalisos is remarkable for windsurfing clubs.
